Caring for your Little Jellies

Sand getting trapped in the swimwear

Beach days are the best…until that sneaky sand decides to move in between the layers of your little one's swimsuit!

Quick beach reality check: Sand getting caught in the lining/fibres happens with pretty much ALL swimwear (big brands included!).  It's super common because of how the fabric behaves when wet + all the rolling/digging kids do.

That said…our bright, happy colours do make those tiny grains more visible compared to darker suits that tend to camouflage them. So what looks like "more" sand is often just easier to spot!

Here are our favourite tried & true ways to get most of it out:

  • Rinse immediately in fresh water after the beach.
  • Let the suit dry completely (sand falls out way easier when dry!)
  • Gently shake/stretch/pat or use a soft brush.
  • Bonus trick: a cool hairdryer on low or even a bit of baby powder can help loosen stubborn bits (says tiktok).

We're always working to make our suits as beach-proof as possible while keeping them fun & bright (because bright = safer visibility in water too!)

Preserving the bright colour

Despite best efforts, bright and fluro colours do fade over time. Taking proper care of them will prolong their life.

Our swimwear is chlorine resistant but pool chemicals and sun lotions may cause discolouration.

To ensure that your little one’s new bathers retain their fantastic colour and shape for as long as possible, immediately rinse them in cold water after use.

When it comes to washing, do not use bleach or any harsh detergents. Handwashing or gentle wash in cold water is best and to dry, lay flat, and inside out, in the shade.

For best results and longevity, rinse your little one's bathers in cold water as soon as they take them off.
